Reviews
Came as a group of 6 and was our first French Michelin star dining experience. Enjoyed it greatly. Price was worth it as there more courses than advertised! The flavors were phenomenal and the creativity was inspiring. Definitely consider the wine pairing.
Well-deserved michelin star. Food was great. service exceptional. We ordered the 7-course degustation meal. It was a 3-hour dinner and food courses came at regular intervals with not too long of a wait between each course. Would love to come back here next time.
Made a reservation online for lunch, confirmed a couple days before.
Simple menu - just choose the number of courses, chef decides the dishes. High quality ingredients, beautiful presentation, every bite was delicious. 3-4 course will leave you satisfied.
Had three 3 course, one 4 course, and one glass of champagne.
Nice atmosphere with Ghibli movie music in the background.
Price per person: €80
Well deserved Michelin 1 star.
Good Michelin restaurant - some of the dishes in the tasting menu were delicious (poultry ball, deserts), some were good but not outstanding compared to similar price ranges (L’orangerie or Fleur de pavé for example).
The service was nice, the decor was a bit impersonal though.
Overall not a bad choice at all but not a favorite
To begin I must say that we have experienced many Michelin restaurants of all ratings.
My husband and I had a lunch here to celebrate our anniversary before our evening party. The restaurant was beige and simple.
To begin our experience we were served three amuse bouche. The first one, a base of potatoe was “very dry/old” tasting. My partner experienced the same thing.
The remainder of the courses were alright, but that’s all.
The dessert tastings were nothing special. One of the desserts was a vial of red sweet liquid, that was literally too sweet and put together with no effort. It tasted like a child’s fruit drink.
I would not recommend this Michelin restaurant. Spend your money on another one.
I was absolutely blown away by this restaurant. The Michelin star was deserved. The food was flavorful and earthy. The tasting menu had plenty to eat -- you won't walk away hungry. Service was impeccable. Highly recommend this restaurant.
From the moment you walk in you sense that what you about to taste will be special.
The restaurant is very inviting with the tables well spaced out, you’re made to feel very welcome.
We were offered champagne- a choice of two, came with a trio of appetisers to complement.
The maitre’d explained the 7 course menu which we had decided on, the sommelier next and we went for the pairing.
Next the amuse bouche - lobster based with other ingredients- and wow, I turned to my son and said if this sets the tone we are in for treat.
What followed was sublime, vegetables, fish (monkish and more lobster) pigeon all wirh sauces or vinaigrettes with miso, sesame or yuzu to name but a few. It was a sheer delight to taste the Japanese and French fusion or inspired blending - a true culinary journey on the palate.
Then a pre dessert and dessert of sublime quality, again accompanied with well chosen alcohol, a peach dessert wine. To finish a gift from the pastry chef (the chef/patrons wife) To which we issued a challenge to the sommelier … with yuzu, low in alcohol but packed with flavour.
All courses were absolutely amazing - could we decide a favourite … yes all of them !
If you can, take the wine paring, it takes the meal to another level.
Near the Arch de Triomphe is the 1 Michelin star restaurant La Scène Thélème. The restaurant is so dedicated to be a culinary theater that it has not only a literal stage that hosts evening theaters but also theatrical plating for every meal course. For instance, whereas every Michelin restaurant gives a small treat after dessert, La Scène Thélème did not let this opportunity waste and still delivered a colorful ensemble.
Delicious as its visual presentation, the dishes are a show in which its cast of traditional Japanese ingredients like shiitake in an interpretation of modern French cuisine with clear influence from the Japanese head chef. The service was unfortunately slightly flawed, but overall this is a show that I would recommend.
